This is a clever trick that many have never heard of. But of coarse you will need access to gmail to unblock facebook. But this works very well and is very slick. Watch the video for a quick idea of how this works. Each step is listed below that is in the video so that you don’t have to write them down.
1.Visit gmail.com and enter your username and password.
2.In top right hand corner of the screen click on the small round gear icon and then mail settings.
3.A settings page will come up on your screen in orange.
4.Select the Labs tab in the settings page.
5.Enable the Add any gadget by URL option in the top of the Labs section.
6.Click on save changes after enabling Add Url.
7.Gmail will then reload the screen.
8.Go back up to the top right and click on the round gear icon and mail settings again.
9.Now click Gadgets in the settings page.
10.Enter this URL (copy / paste) in the Add a gadget by its Url box… http://hosting.gmodules.com/ig/gadgets/file/104971404861070329537/facebook.xml
11.Click on the Add button once done.
12.Now just on the left column a gadget will appear named Facebook.
13.Click on the Facebook text in the widget.
14.Facebook will now appear and you will be able to login if not already logged in.
15.Enjoy facebook is now unblocked through your gmail.
Please note after this video was made Gmail changed there interface to get into the settings page. It is now a small icon still in the top right that you will need to click on both times to get the Gmail settings page to come up. After you click on the small a drop down menu will come from the gear. Select mail settings and not just settings as it has been renamed mail settings.
Also to get this trick to work you should setup this gmail connection app with a connection with facebook on an unblocked facebook pc first. This way the gmail app gadget that connects to facebook can get permission from facebook to access your account regularly without needing to connect to facebook in a blocked enviroment. So in essence this gadget app will communicate like a facebook proxy for you.
